21 Jul What is the most certain way to become a top professional?
The most successful people may be described by their talents, but they were built by their professionalism.
What does this mean?
It was said a long time ago: Sow a thought and you reap an action; sow an act and you reap a habit; sow a habit and you reap a character; sow a character and you reap a destiny.
Maybe, in adulthood, we can no longer significantly influence what we acquired early on in life: our talents. However, what we can influence is our conscious activity: work that acquires a skill, which, by repeating, acquires habits. And the habit is not described as gravity in vain.
Those who acquired work habits at the beginning of primary school ended up graduating with honors with less effort.
If your parents “forced” you to make your bed whenever you got up as a child, it is probably less tiresome for you to do that today – and thus return to a tidier apartment after work.
Habits are powerful both with “little” and “big” things in life. When a skill becomes a habit, it begins to characterize us over time, and becomes a part of our business identity – the one which we were chosen for even before there was branding. It is that fine line between a girl who dares to say that she has solid organizational skills and a top organiser.
Or, as Aristotle would say:
“We are what we repeatedly do. Excellence, then, is not an act, but a habit.”
And since we are all limited by time, energy and other resources on a daily basis, it is important to choose which habits we should cultivate. So it would be a good idea to talk to your business advisor if you are unsure of what is worth investing in.
